Lashed together, the dinghies are stilled on the sands exposed by the receding tide, trickles of tidal pools glisten in the light, the green and aqua waters of the loch simply glow beneath the intense blue skies whilst clouds are drifting lazily overhead, so mirrored in patches of water. In this absence of activity one can only imagine the atmosphere of joie de vivre in the pub at the Plockton Hotel. THIS is the painting that brought me to Plockton to find Greg Dobson.
I regret I have never had the pleasure of seeing the View up Loch Carron in person (safer still as I am compulsive about such things that command me to drive for hours to a single destination) yet we are very fortunate to be able to offer the fruits of that pilgrimage to our clientele. The colours absolutely sparkle and honestly, I ache to be back in this environment, tomorrow if it were possible. My greatest hope is that it finds a perfect home to be cherished forever.
Oil on canvas laminated on board, truly spectacular use of colour and in capturing the light and receding tides. Your purchase of any of Greg's fine art will benefit the restoration of Burra Cottage.
